Safeguarding
Safeguarding at Stephen Freeman Primary School
In this school, Safeguarding and Child protection is a shared responsibility, and we all have a legal duty to ensure the welfare of children. If you have any concerns that a child has been harmed, is at risk of harm, or you receive a disclosure, please contact the main school office as soon as possible and ask to speak to a member of staff with responsibility for safeguarding.
As a school, we follow Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) and have our own school Child Protection Policy. Please read through these documents which are on display in the reception area and discuss any concerns with a DSL (listed below).
The use of mobile phones and cameras by visitors is strictly prohibited on the premises.

Mrs Jess Lewis, Headteacher & Designated Safeguarding Lead

Miss Sue Shaw, Child and Family Practitioner & Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Mrs Deborah Wilson, Child and Family Support Practitioner & Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Mr Matt Bews, Deputy Headteacher & Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
If you have any concerns about the safety of a child, please contact the staff named above via the school office. If you have any concerns outside of school hours regarding the welfare of a child, please call Oxfordshire County Council's Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) on 0345 050 7666. If you have an urgent concern for a child call 999 or 101.
As part of our role to safeguard pupils, please be aware that, like all schools, we have a duty to share information with other agencies where there are any concerns about the safety or well-being of a child.
All school policies relating to the safeguarding of pupils are available for further reference on the website Policies page. Paper copies can be requested from the school office.
